Upon death, a regular character loses 2.5% of their total experience and skill points, their backpack, and has a chance to lose items in other equipment slots without any [[Promotion]]s or [[Blessing]]s. 
Each blessing and promotion decreases experience and skill loss by 0.3%, the first promotion and the 5 regular blessings will reduce your experience loss to 0.7%. [[White Lady|The Blessing of the Goddess]] purchasable after completing the [[White Light Faction]] will reduce it by another 0.3%, and the second promotion obtained upon completion of the [[Demonic Faction]] by yet another 0.3%. This means that a character with all 6 blessings and both promotions will only lose 0.1% of their total experience and skill points upon death. 
Item loss can be entirely prevented by wearing an [[Amulet of Loss]], [[Blessed Pendant]] or a [[Blessed Sigil]] which can be used to enchant many [[Amulets]] with an item-loss-prevention enchantment.
